  1. How can I contact you?

Delivery

  1. Are there different sized delivery vehicles?
    All of our local distributors offer deliveries by mini tankers, four, six and eight wheel tankers, we can deliver a large range of fuel products and quantities to any location. Please let us know in the 'delivery instructions' section of your order if you require a small tanker.
  2. Can you make unattended deliveries?
    Providing we can gain access to the tank you don't need to be at home when we deliver. All our deliveries are metered and you will receive a printed delivery docket, so you know exactly how much home heating oil was delivered. These meters are regularly audited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland.
  3. How do I find out how much oil you have actually delivered?
    Our driver will leave you a printed delivery docket from the tanks meter which will show exactly how much oil was delivered.
  4. How far can you deliver from the tank?
    Most of our trucks have a 120ft (40m) hose. This is ample for most delivery scenarios.
  5. What can I do if I think I may run out of oil before my delivery arrives?
    If you think you may run out of oil before we deliver to you, please contact us by freephone 1800 200 308 and we will do our best to ensure your oil is delivered before you run out. 
  6. What if I have a discrepancy with the amount of fuel delivered?
    If you've paid for an order of a higher value than the amount of fuel that we delivered, we will credit your account with the difference, based on the price you paid for your fuel on the day of delivery. If you have a query with your order, please do not hesitate to contact us. 
  7. What if my order has not been delivered?
    If your order has not been delivered, the first step is to check the delivery date you have requested on your confirmation email. While we always endeavour to deliver within the timescale you requested there are occassions where this may not be possible. We will always endavour to notify you in advance if such a situation occurs.

Ordering

  1. Can I cancel or change my order?
    Yes, you can cancel your order but please inform us as soon as possible. Provided you notify us at least two working days before the final scheduled delivery date, we will cancel your order and either refund your payment card or credit your oil account. If you need to change your order, please contact us as soon as possible and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
  2. How do I pay?
    When you order at Sweeneyoil.com you can pay for your home heating oil immediately through our secure online payment facilty using your Laser, Visa or Mastercard.
  3. How many litres are there to the gallon?
    There are 4.546 litres to a imperial gallon.
  4. How much oil can I order?
    The minimum amount you can order is 500 litres. Most customers order between 1,000-1,500 litres. The larger the volume we deliver, the lower the cent per litre price. If you are not sure how much you need to order, please read your tank instructions. If you order more than you need we will credit your account with the difference. If you are still not sure please contact us.
  5. What can I do to save money when I order?
    There are two main ways to save money on your order: By ordering larger quantities you will get a better cent per litre rate. Remember, if you have a promotional code, input it when you order. Most of our marketing literature has promotional codes printed on it which will provide you with a discount on your order.
  6. What is the VAT rate for home heating oil?
    All domestic customers pay 13.5% VAT on home heating oil, regardless of quantity.

  1. Do you sell tanks?
    Yes, we stock a complete range of Titan oil storage tanks.  
  2. Do you service boilers?
    No, we don’t have our own team of boiler service engineers but please tell us your requirements through the contact us form and we’ll provide you with contact details of reputable boiler servicing engineers in your area.
  3. How can I find out about oil storage rules and regulations?
    Even a small oil spillage can have a devastating effect on the local environment, so oil storage within Ireland is strictly regulated. It’s worth spending a few minutes ensuring your storage tank complies with the rules.
  4. How can I get advice on running my home heating system more efficiently?
    OFTEC is the organisation responsible for looking after the oil heating and the cooking industries throughout Ireland. The OFTEC website has a wide range of information, including some great tips for increasing the efficiency of your home heating system. Visit the site at http://www.oftec.co.uk/.
  5. What is the difference between Kerosene and Gas Oil?
    Kerosene, also known as 28 second oil, is produced after the distillation process of crude oil. Most domestic systems run on Kerosene because it provides a cleaner and more efficient burn for your home. Gas Oil (green diesel), also known as 35 second oil, is more commonly used in agriculture and industry. Gas Oil is less combustible than Kerosene and has more carbon atoms.
  6. Why do you need my personal details and are they secure?
    The details we store are the minimum required to complete orders as safely and efficiently as possible. All optional personal information is used to provide you with an enhanced service that will make the oil buying process easier and more cost-effective. Your details are secure and we’ll never pass on your details to any third parties – you are much too valuable to us. Please see our privacy policy for more details.
